Casting!

Although I have many ideas for the style of cinematography I wish to emulate in my film, I feel that it is important to cast Bonnie and Nate before actually drawing the images. Once I have chosen my actors,  I'll have more of a feel for the characters.

I am looking for some a talented actor and actress who can portray their role just as I imagined when creating the story. Quite a few actors from my college and local colleges have volunteered to take on the roles of Bonnie and Nate. It's going to be a tough decision.

For the role of Bonnie I need an attractive, young female who is preferably blonde.

Eleanor Woodall

Positives
Eleanor Woodall is a talent potential actress whom I have used in many of my previous films. Furthermore, her thick, blonde hair definitely suits the role of Bonnie. Another plus...she's nearly always available!

Negatives
Although she is blonde, I feel that perhaps her look is too cute; someone more sophisticated may be best for the role of Bonnie to emphasis her overdressed appearance on the first date. Also, she has never actually studied drama and is, therefore, less experienced. I  doubt that Eleanor would feel comfortable with the bath scene.

Leah Williams

Positives
Leah Williams is extremely pretty, therefore, an audience would enjoy to watch her on screen. Her look is also more sophisticated because she is a few years older than Eleanor. Furthermore, she is an excellent actress who studies performing arts full time at college. She definitely knows what she is doing and, as a dancer, she can definitely pull off an elegant look! She is also available on days that would work for shooting.

 Negatives
Leah also has a slightly innocent look about her, however, I feel that this would only add to her representation of a damsel in distress. However, I am aware that Leah has a fear of water. This would not the beneficial for the bath scene.

Robyn Ashcroft

Positives
Robyn Ashcroft is also extremely pretty and a very talented actress. I feel that she could easily pull off Bonnie's sophisticated look. Furthermore, I feel that she is a person that many young girls could connect with.

 Negatives
Obviously, Robyn is not blonde. Aside from this, she is also an inexperienced actress who has never had any formal teaching.  Robyn works most weekends for five hours a day; it is unlikely that she would be able to make all shooting days.

Clearly, Leah is going to have to be my chosen Bonnie!

Now for my potential Nates...

James Walters

Positives
James Walters is an incredibly talented actor who, like Leah Williams, studies performing arts full time.  He definitely has the perfect image for the role with his dark hair and the physical appearance of a typical- and good looking- teenage boy.

Negatives
James now has a job at a local farm and occasionally works over his weekends. It may be more of a struggle to find dates where both him and Leah are available. Furthermore, he and Leah have never met. This could perhaps lead to a lack of chemistry between the two, however, this may only add to the appearance of an awkward first date.

Josh Nunnerley

Positives
Josh Nunnerley studies performing arts part time and was accepted into the National Youth Film Academy for his acting. He is also very comfortable acting with Leah as they are close friends.

Negatives
Josh works most weekends and is very rarely available. I doubt he would be able to spare the time to star as Nate.

 Martin Pierce

Postivies
Martin is always available and he studies theater at college.

Negatives
Martin is blonde and looks nothing like how I imagined Nate to look. Furthermore, he has never met Leah before which could lead to a lack of chemistry.

I feel that, although all three males are very talented and experienced, James Walters would be best for the role. He physically fits the description of Nate as well as being a very committed and talented actor. I would simply have to create a shooting schedule around his work schedule.
